Whether you have a few high-schoolers getting ready to graduate, or you just want to be prepared, here are a few things to know, and some of the local schools to check out:
The Kalamazoo Promise
For those moving to Kalamazoo with children, we’re excited to share the Kalamazoo Promise with you. Every Kalamazoo Public School graduate is offered the opportunity to attend post-secondary education in the state of Michigan with up to a 100% tuition scholarship. Brought to the community by an anonymous group of donors in the fall of 2005, this amazing gift is granted to students who:
- Graduate from Kalamazoo Public Schools
- Reside in the district
- Have been students for four years or more
The Kalamazoo Promise is offered to any student who meets the above criteria. Funding is offered for college tuition and mandatory fees at any public university or community college in the state of Michigan. The Promise also includes colleges in the Michigan Colleges Alliance liberal arts colleges.
